What we collect

Joining the RAH Community requires a RAH account. We collect the account information described below. Historical standalone email-signup records may include the name, email address, ZIP code, interests, optional requests, and discovery source previously submitted. These records do not create accounts or make an address eligible for community emails. We also collect limited first-party visit information, such as landing page, referral source, campaign details, and an anonymous session identifier.

Contact messages, website-problem reports and Rural Awareness observations are stored for private RAH administrator review. They are never automatically published. We retain the fields you submit, contact permission, review status and, if signed in, your account identifier and email. No account is required to use these forms. Please do not submit sensitive health, financial or account information.

If you sign in to recommend a resource or suggest an update, we retain your account identifier, email and submission for private RAH review. Approved listing content may be published, but your member identity remains administrator-only. We retain a private audit history of reviewed changes.

RAH accounts and authentication

Native RAH accounts use Google Firebase Authentication for email/password identity, email verification and password reset when account registration is available. A ChatGPT account is not required. Passwords are handled by Firebase and are not stored in the RAH application database. RAH stores your username, ZIP code, optional private phone number, membership level, provider identity, verification status, account type, consent records and account permissions. Essential browser authentication storage and a secure server session cookie keep you signed in. Your account is separate from marketing email; only an explicit opt-in records interest in updates.

Site feedback is private and anonymous by default. If you explicitly choose to attach your verified RAH account, the account link is retained for private administrator review. Follow-up email is retained only when you request a reply. Ratings, written answers, selected areas, review status and optional page/device context help us improve RAH.

Favorites and profile changes

Favorites are private to your RAH account and store references to public resources, events, articles, guides and projects. They are not shared with advertisers. Profile changes do not grant administrative permissions or subscribe you to marketing. Email changes require Firebase verification of the new address. New accounts may receive one essential account-ready welcome; community subscription confirmation and welcome messages are separate.

Service providers and analytics

We do not sell your information or share it with advertising partners. Hosting and identity providers process information needed to operate these services. Firebase/Google processes authentication information to provide account security. The current site uses limited first-party visit reporting; this update does not add Google Analytics or partner advertising pixels. Passwords, authentication tokens and personal profile information are not sent to analytics.

Email updates and confirmation

Community email updates require an active RAH account with a verified email address and are optional. Creating an account does not subscribe you. Choose Subscribe to emails in My RAH, then confirm the subscription email. When email sending is enabled, Resend processes your email address and message content to deliver confirmation and welcome emails. We retain confirmation, unsubscribe and welcome-send status. Historical contacts without an eligible RAH account are not sent community emails. Use Unsubscribe in My RAH or the unsubscribe link in a community email to stop updates. Your account and essential security emails are unaffected.

How we use it

We use this information to understand community interest, improve the site, share meaningful RAH progress, and identify useful local opportunities. We do not sell submitted contact information, publish it without permission, or share it with advertising partners. Service providers process it only as needed to operate the site.

Your choices

Joining is optional. You may ask us to correct or remove information you submitted, or ask not to receive future messages, by emailing [email protected].

Data care

We use reasonable safeguards and limit access to community contact information. No online system can guarantee absolute security, so please do not submit sensitive information through the form.
